Beginnings

zooluft started off as a 4-member crew composed by 3 amateur producers and one amateur designer. every month a musical challenge was proposed to the producers, for example, making a track in 3h. each producer differed in style, but this was what bounded them together. the tracks were then uploaded to soundcloud with cover art made by the one designer.

slowly but surely, new artistically-minded friends started joining us in our project, and so we gained more designers, producers, and also photographers. now becoming a true multidisciplinary art collective, following in the footsteps of the likes of acne, andy warhol’s “the factory” and so on.

soon after, hipotalamuszi (a founding member) started venturing into djing. which propelled us to organize a dj event. being that most of us were still students, the student dorm was our living environment and thus, naturally, it became the set for our events. this was the start of the zooluft experiences.

all this happened in aarhus, denmark where still the biggest concentration of our artists resides and where most of our activity takes place. although this was the place of birth of zooluft, its members are not natives of the area. zooluft is composed of artists of different nationalities: czech, german, hungarian, lithuanian, polish, portuguese, and growing.

Currently

today, we maintain the same diy ethos that started in the dorm rooms of aarhus but we have been expanding our activities to one of collaboration, where others are encouraged to book our artists and their expertise for whatever needs they might have. be it a dj/producer you need to make people dance or deliver good vibes, or a photographer to make you remember that amazing time, or even a designer that can put your ideas into real life, we’ve got you covered.

Future

our goal is to help artists develop themselves to their full, authentic potential. therefore, we are not concerned with genres or styles, we believe great art is achieved by pursuing ones own animalistic/artistic instincts to the fullest and not by complying with a certain genre’s dos and don’ts.

hope you’ll join us and see these artists become their fullest authentic artistic selves!.
